Over your ten years+ of experience with your previous role in finance, you can bring transferrable skills to our various Microsoft and propriety platforms. You have the modest swagger to debate business initiatives with the CEO, and you know the difference between an RRSP and TFSA. We’re joking… sort of. But the right person should live and breathe finance and be passionate about what they do.

The right person is not about clocking in and out, they are ready to roll up their sleeves and love what they do. You bring new business ideas monthly on what we can tackle next. Work hard and play hard with this fresh approach organization!

The Role

Everything from budgets to client meetings, no job is too small or big for you to take on. Yes, leadership will be required as you have and will grow your own small finance team that helps Elite fly. As the VP of Finance, you will bring new efficiencies to our growing business while finding new areas to increase our profitability. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior position and will require your involvement and several confidential initiatives to grow our corporate travel footprint.

Both internal and external client reports and analytics, Elite will depend on you to bring a financial acumen that ensures our clients feel your confidence. In- person and virtual client/ supplier meetings will be the norm.

You can be ready to introduce new expense platforms to our business, cost centre reviews and allocations, along with understanding our key suppliers who reward our business with the best financial optics. Again, no month or week will ever be the same as we create new brands and cost analyze new hires.

Responsibilities of this Role

• Oversee all areas of accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation
• Work closely alongside the CEO and executive team to advise in financial strategic planning
• Successfully lead your financial team, ensuring proper support in any projects/ daily tasks as needed
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting to meet forecasting and budgeting needs of the team
• Proactively implement department, company-wide finance efficiencies to result in an elevated client experience
• Act as the liaison with clients and suppliers on any discrepancies and facilitate a successful resolution
• Oversee the successful preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly closings
• Assist the CEO with financial initiatives as necessary
• Be an active contributing team member. At Elite, our culture is a big deal!

Required Skills for this Role

• In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit, and tax compliance
• Experience in utilizing Microsoft Business Central is preferred
• Exceptional written and verbal communication to provide guidance and explain difficult issues clearly, and tactfully, to the appropriate audience
• Working knowledge of virtual credit card platforms
• Successfully creating and managing Annual budgets
• Proven Month End process experience
• Implementing new programs to improve efficiencies
• Possession of a CPA designation
• 5+ Years of experience in a similar role
• Calgary-based
